The Surgery.

The Todmorden surgery is staffed by two vets and three or four members of support staff each day. On Saturdays, the staff work on a rota system.

We have facilities for taking x-rays, performing surgery and dental treatment. We also run blood tests on site.

Our main surgery in Halifax is used to hospitalise animals if they need round-the-clock care and for more specialised blood tests and ultrasound scanning.

Located in the centre of Todmorden we are a friendly, approachable branch surgery, providing a very high standard of care for your pets.

Additionally, we do work for PDSA, Dogs Trust and Cats Protection, supporting both local and national charities wherever possible.

Opening Hours

Monday - Friday
8:30am - 6:30pm

History

We first moved into the current premises in Todmorden in January 1997, having outgrown the small surgery on Meadow Lane, where we worked since 1984. This move enabled us, not only to open the surgery all day but, to anaesthetise, operate & x-ray animals without having to transport them to the surgery in Hebden Bridge - which was at that time the practice headquarters (then called Holborow & Tapsfield).

Later improvements made to the surgery doubled its previous size. The waiting area has been expanded and an extra consulting room constructed; this allows our Veterinary Nurses to have clinics for pet obesity checks, adolescent checks, senior pet health checks, dental checks, minor procedures such as dressing changes and claw clipping.

Appointments

If you need to contact the surgery for advice or an appointment please phone during our normal hours of opening.

Emergencies

Emergency calls always take priority. If the surgery is closed calls will be received by our staff at our main surgery in Halifax or, on Saturdays, at the new Mytholmroyd surgery.

Outside normal hours you may hear a recorded message telling you how the staff may be reached. Listen to the whole message and have a pen handy.
