West Mount Vets -
Todmorden
The Todmorden surgery is staffed by two vets and three or four members of support staff each day. On Saturdays, the staff work on a rota system.
We have facilities for taking x-rays, performing surgery and dental treatment. We also run blood tests on site.
Our main surgery in Halifax is used to hospitalise animals if they need round-the-clock care and for more specialised blood tests and ultrasound scanning.
Located in the centre of Todmorden we are a friendly, approachable branch surgery, providing a very high standard of care for your pets.
Additionally, we do work for PDSA, Dogs Trust and Cats Protection, supporting both local and national charities wherever possible.
Appointments
If you wish to contact the surgery for advice or an appointment please phone between the hours of 8:30am - 6:30pm, weekdays or 12:00noon - 3:00pm on Saturdays, outside these hours emergency calls will be received by our main surgery in Halifax.

Vets
Vicky Weedon, one of our two regular vets at the Todmorden Surgery, started with us in February 2006.
Vicky originally comes from Cheshire and qualified from Cambridge University in 2004. Since then she worked in a mixed (farm and companion animal) practice in Preston for a year before taking a six-month sabbatical travelling around South East Asia.
She is very enthusiastic about working in small animal practice and especially enjoys surgery and feline medicine.
Vicky lives with her husband, and they have a young and daft Lurcher called Eric who was adopted as a rescue dog in April 2006.
She enjoys outdoor pursuits such as hiking, trips away in her campervan, live music, walking her dog and her tiny vegetable patch.
Helen joined us in July 2007 working at our Todmorden branch. She graduated from Bristol Vet School but originally comes from Harrogate and came back North to her Yorkshire roots.
Helen has a cat Tippy, currently living with her parents and a dog, a Border Terrier called Penny- a bundle of energy and enthusiasm.
Other than trying to tire Penny out on long walks her interests include climbing, skiing, scuba diving, cooking and indie/rock music.
Veterinary Nurses
Margaret joined the practice in 1991 when the Todmorden Surgery was based in Meadow Lane. At that time she worked part-time at the Hebden Bridge surgery and part time at Todmorden.
When the surgery moved to the current premises in 1996 she started working full time and in 1998 began training to be a qualified Veterinary Nurse. She qualified in January 2001.
As well as being a Veterinary Nurse certificate holder, Margaret holds all five levels of the Hill's Nutritional Advisor Programme and is also a Hill's Veterinary Healthcare Advisor.
Margaret holds pet Weight Clinics each week and sees animals for other nurse consults too.
She has a labrador retriever called 'Kip' and spends her time out of work walking, keeping fit, socialising and being a Mum to her three children.
Nursing Assistants
Nataliya qualified as a Vet in Ukraine and is studying in this country to obtain her qualifications here.
She’s worked for West Mount Vets for the last three years as an Animal Care Assistant.
Nataliya and her partner have a smallholding with lots of pets.
Brenda started with us in November 2007 and lives in Pecket Well. She has one cat, Mia, who aims to become 'Slimmer of the Year' !
Brenda also keeps chickens and has a special interest in sheep. She holds a City and Guilds certificate in Sheep Management , Beef Management and Milk Production. Brenda is also a hand spinner and fibre artist.
Her other interests are horse riding, 4x4 off road driving and travel.
After many years working in administration I went back to college in September 2005 and did a National Diploma in Animal Management, I am continuing my studies this year by starting a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare. I am actively involved with Cats Protection and Haworth Cat Rescue. I have 5 cats of my own. I work part-time at the Todmorden branch.
Hannah joined the practice in December 2007 working as an Animal Care Assistant and Receptionist.
Hannah lives with her partner Kris and his family and they have four cats called Pepe, Mooch, Sky and Tiger and two dogs called Sidney and Trent.
As well as looking after all the animals she loves cooking, movies and live music.
