Vets
I graduated from Bristol vet school in 2003 and then spent three years working in mixed practice in South Wales.
I then spent the next two years travelling through SE Asia, Australia and then New Zealand, where I also worked in several veterinary practices. Most of the travel was done with my partner Gareth on push bikes, an absolutely stunning way to see a country although a lot of hard work!
On returning to the UK I started work at West Mount vets Mytholmroyd in July 2008. The work here is varied and interesting and I am lucky to work with a brilliant nursing and support team.
I still try to find the time to continue my training and racing for triathlon which is something that I started in my final couple of years at vets school. I can often be found cycling the local roads, running the fells with the Todmorden harriers or occasionally at the pool for a swim
Veterinary Nurses
Jo has worked for West Mount for ten years now and has been a fully qualified VN for seven years!
She recently moved from working at both Hebden Bridge and Todmorden surgeries to full time at Hebden Bridge (now Mytholmroyd).
Jo has one dog, two cats and her most recent arrivals are two mischevious ferrets Miffy and Ted! She enjoys keeping fit and may on occasion be seen puffing up and down the hills of the Calder valley.
I have worked at Hebden Bridge since May 2005. I am learning lots and really enjoy my job. I have five pets of my own - 'Stan', the big soppy Great Dane; 'Dipper' a pointer; 'Blossom', my old and faithful Labrador; and my terrible two-some cats 'Mrs Whiskerson' and 'Fluffy'
